CMM Programmer

Our client, a medical device manufacturer in Wheeling, seeks a skilled and experienced QA CMM Programmer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, verify, and optimize programs for automated inspection equipment, ensuring accurate and repeatable measurement results.
  • Perform inspections using CMMs, measuring tools, and electronic instruments in accordance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Develop and execute First Article Inspection plans, including ballooned drawings and documentation required by internal teams or customers.
  • Troubleshoot inspection methods, measurement challenges, and equipment issues, recommending effective alternatives or improvements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering and Manufacturing to support new product introductions, measurement system development, and process improvements.
  • Use ZEISS CMM and Brown & Sharp machines for programming

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
 
Knowledge / Education / Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent.  Associate’s Degree in a technical field or other technical degree preferred. 
  • 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing or regulated industry 
 
Skills / Competencies / Requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings/prints
  • Has basic knowledge in the use of hand gages, tool scopes and height stands
  • Experience measuring physical dimension on parts
  • Advanced knowledge of GD&T
  • Experience with Vision-based CMM systems
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions.  Strong verbal communication and organizations skills.
