CNC Machine Operator (2nd Shift)

Our Client, a manufacturer in precision valves in the downtown Chicago area, is seeking a CNC machine operator for the 2nd shift. This opportunity offers, vision, health, dental and retirement benefits.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate CNC lathes, mills, and robotic systems in a fast-paced production setting.

  • Change tools, inserts, and make offsets as needed to maintain quality output.

  • Follow detailed work instructions, setup cards, and process sheets.

  • Monitor machining processes and make on-the-fly adjustments to maintain tolerances.

  • Inspect machined parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure accuracy to blueprints.

  • Keep workstations clean and organized in accordance with company safety and 5S practices.

  • Perform minor maintenance tasks on equipment to support ongoing production.

  • Communicate with supervisors, programmers, and quality control to resolve any issues.

  • Complete assigned tasks as directed by management or team leads.


What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a CNC machining or precision manufacturing environment, or completion of relevant CNC training.

  • Confidence in reading blueprints and interpreting technical documentation.

  • Familiarity with making machine offsets, tool changes, and troubleshooting production issues.

  • Comfortable using measurement tools for in-process inspections and documentation.

  • Experience setting up and running horizontal CNC lathes or mills.

  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work with minimal supervision.


Bonus Skills (Preferred but Not Required):

  • Experience operating Okuma or Nakamura CNC machines.

  • Familiarity with Fanuc Robodrills, Universal Robots, or Fanuc robotic systems.

  • Exposure to automation or robotic-assisted machining environments.


  • Weekly Attendance bonus of $1.25 / hr.
  • Overtime opportunities available.
  • Paid weekly, every Friday.
