Our client, a metal stamping company located on the Northwest side of Chicago, seeks an experienced Shipping & Receiving Supervisor.
This role manages daily warehouse operations, leads a team of shipping/receiving personnel, and partners closely with production, purchasing, and logistics to keep materials moving smoothly through the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily shipping and receiving operations to ensure accurate, on-time material flow
- Lead, train, and schedule warehouse staff while monitoring performance and productivity
- Maintain inventory integrity through proper material handling, cycle counts, and ERP updates
- Coordinate with production, purchasing, and carriers to prioritize shipments and prevent downtime
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, warehouse organization, and efficient workflow
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse operations; 1+ year in a supervisory or lead role preferred
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or logistics environments
- 3 years of forklift experience required
- Proficiency with ERP or warehouse management software
- Ability to read packing lists, BOLs, and basic production documents
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet in a warehouse environment
