Our client, a metal fabricator located in the Cicero area, seeks an experienced spot welder to work 1st shift (5AM-1:30PM). This position offers medical, dental, and retirement benefits.
Responsibilities
- Reads blueprints, bills of materials, and written work orders required in the fabrication of welded parts.
- Performs own job set-ups, as well as assisting others within the department.
- Performs light maintenance on welding equipment, copper tips and fixtures for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of equipment in the spot welding department.
- Maintains all shop equipment, tools and fixtures
- Keeps accurate production records such as number of good and defective units produced per job. Rejects damaged or non-conforming items; records shortages, and communicates findings to the supervisor.
- Responds to emergency situations as needed, for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
